Welcome to my contact page

Updated: Jan. 11/2024
This page identifies the different ways you can contact me.

At the current moment I do not have an "instant chat" option available.
Until I find something that works with Windows XP there will not be one.
Please use one of the other options listed here.

E-mail: glenap@moonie.ca

This is the best E-mail address to reach me. My old autobahn E-mail stopped working sometime in 2021. The moonie.ca address is the best E-mail to reach me as I have more control over that one by virtue of owning the domain name.

Phone: 204-997-4536

It's OK to call this number any time of the day or night 24/7. You are most likely to get me 'live' between midnight and 2 AM (central time) most days, you may also catch me 'live' on Friday afternoons or evenings. If you are not able to call in that time window it may be more effective to use one of the above methods.

Also, I don't return phone calls to Non-Candadian numbers due to cost.

Since my current plan covers Canada wide I can call people back at any number in a Canadian Area Code, with the exception of Area Code 600. (Although I don't know if anyone still has a number in Area code 600 any more so that's unlikely to be an issue. They were mostly used for 'caller pay' cell phones and satellite phones back in the 1990s.)

Those of you who are not in Canada (or at least don't have a Canadian call back number) are best to either leave an online contact method in the voicemail and be sure to say it's what it's about or to try back to reach me live. If you leave a message I'll know what to expect it's about when you call back.

I do have text messaging on this line, though the change in my cell plan in Dec. 2022 means I can also only reply to Canadian numbers with SMS.

U.S. Bound SMS now costs 40¢ each under my new Bell Mobility plan. I couldn't keep the old plan that included U.S. bound SMS because the old BellMTS network is about to be shut down meaning we all had to migrate to the new Network/Plans.

Snail Mail

My 'new' P.O. Box since mid-Dec. 2007:

Glen A. Pearce
P.O. Box 2225
Station Main
Winnipeg, MB
R3C 3R5
Canada

Just a reminder the old P.O. Box at the Nairn RPO is gone due to the RPO closing February 29, 2008. The outlet number (and thus box number) had been re-assigned to a new RPO operator (so somebody else may have since rented that box number). It's been long enough that Canada Post has actually retired the old postal code and given the new RPO operator a new postal code. (Also in 2021 the 7-11 that the Nairn RPO used to be located in has closed.)

I have confirmation that Canada Post has leased back the space for the retail operation at Station Main from the new building owners (Winnipeg Police) so my 'new' address will be staying put for the foreseeable future even though Canada Post has moved their sorting plant to a new facility. Unlike the RPO I dealt with before Station Main is operated by Canada Post it's self rather than a franchise operator.

Also in late 2011 the PO Box lobby at Station Main recieved some renovations to accomodate Canada Post cramming their remaining retail operations into their 'lease back' zone of the building. Less space in front of the boxes, more space behind so they have the storage space for parcels. They had to re-arrange a bit since they no longer have the whole building to use as overflow. ^_- All of us who have active boxes kept our same box numbers, they just deleted some unused boxes when they installed the new ones so they now have a higher occupancy rate.

I have pre-paid my P.O. Box until Dec. 1/2025 so I'm not going anywhere. ^_-

IUN (ICQ User Number): 729816445 (No longer available!)

As of the morning of Sept. 12/2022 ICQ stopped working, apparently as of today I can send messages but not recieve them. I'll have to see if a new version of the ICQ Plugin for Pidgin comes out that fixes this.

For now this method of contact will not be available.

Skype Name: ve4gap_1 (No longer available!)

Currently (Jan. 8/2021) I can't get Skype to work through Pidgin so this is no longer available as a contact method. I'll update this page if a new plugin fixes it.

AIM (AOL Instant messanger): ve4gap (No longer available)

AIM shut down their servers on Dec. 15/2017 so this is no longer available.

Being that I don't have the programming skills to create my own chat platform to replace it (perhaps named something like Canadian Relay of Essential Short Text or maybe Canadian On-Line Great Advanced Text Engine ^_-) Please use E-mail or phone instead.
